On Nov. 8, A Celebration of Story, a benefit and auction for WITS, featured award-winning poet and former WITS student Mark Doty, and honored Karl Kilian, Director of Programs at the Menil Collection, for his continued support of WITS and literary arts education. Thanks to the wonderful attendance and participation of the Houston community, the event raised over $100,000! Funds raised from the evening help WITS send writers into school and community classrooms and inspire the imagination and creativity of more than 20,000 children throughout Houston.
