Writer Weezie Mackey works full time as communications manager at the business school at Rice University and has been a writer and editor with Webster’s Dictionary, Encyclopaedia Britannica, Tootsietoy, Rotary International, and the Williams College Museum of Art. She holds a BA in English from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and an MFA in creative writing from American University in Washington, D.C. Weezie is the author of the novel Throwing Like a Girl, which was nominated as Best Young Adult Book, 2007, by the Texas Institute of Letters. She lives in The Heights with her husband and two sons and is currently working on another sports novel for girls called Kick. |
