WITS Students Turn Sight into Sound

Wits Students Turn Sight into Sound

Students from our Summer Creative Writing Workshops took a recent field trip to Taping For The Blind, a nonprofit whose mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with visual, physical and learning disabilities by transforming what is seen into what is heard.  Jim Bratton, a volunteer with Taping For The Blind, guided the students on how to use their voices effectively before each writer went into a sound booth to record their poems. In September, the poems will be streamed online at Taping For The Blind's Poet's Corner. HISD's Instructional Media TV stopped by to capture the experience. View the segment.
