WITS Young Writers Reading 2010 at Discovery Green

The WITS Young Writers Reading will be held Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Discovery Green Park in downtown Houston and will feature the Honorable Ada Edwards as keynote speaker. WITS celebrates a year of awakening children to the pleasure and power of reading and writing. The reading features the best student writing from our 250 school, community, and hospital classrooms. In addition to reading their selected works, their stories and poems are published in the annual Blooms anthology, which will be available at the event.

This year, in collaboration with Travelers Insurance, WITS offers an afternoon of creativity for the whole family through writing activities that will be set up near the Main Stage from 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM. The reading will begin at 3:00 PM.

The 2010 Young Writers Reading is made possible through generous donations from Travelers Insurance, Kroger, Books-A-Million, Poets and Writers, Inc., and the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance.
